Practice areas
What ManAT Legal advises on
The firm’s work is litigation, advisory and dispute resolution across ten practice areas. Four of them account for most of the firm’s instructions. The remaining six are handled by the same advocates and frequently arise alongside the first four.
Principal practices
The four areas where the firm does most of its work
Each page below sets out the situations the firm is instructed in, how those matters proceed, which advocates handle them and which courts hear them.
Property Law
Title verification, documentation and litigation over ownership, partition and possession of property in Bengaluru and Karnataka.
Criminal Law
Representation from the police enquiry and FIR stage through bail applications and trial before the Magistrate and Sessions Courts.
Divorce & Family Law
Divorce, custody, maintenance and related matrimonial proceedings, handled with care for the people involved.
Corporate & Commercial Law
Commercial contracts and the disputes that follow them, including arbitration, shareholder disputes and NCLT proceedings.
Further practices
Other matters the firm handles
These areas overlap with the four above more often than not. A commercial dispute may proceed in arbitration, a property matter may raise a consumer complaint, and an employment claim may follow a contractual one.
Civil Litigation
Civil suits, declarations, injunctions and execution proceedings before the City Civil Court and the High Court of Karnataka.
Employment & Labour Law
Employment contracts, terminations, unpaid wages and industrial disputes before Labour Courts and tribunals.
Consumer Disputes
Complaints before the District, State and National Consumer Commissions, including service deficiency and real-estate claims.
Arbitration & Dispute Resolution
Ad-hoc and institutional arbitration, mediation and pre-litigation strategy across commercial and construction disputes.
Insolvency & NCLT Matters
Insolvency litigation, company petitions and shareholder proceedings before the NCLT and NCLAT.
Recovery & Debt-Related Matters
Money recovery suits, debt claims and proceedings before the Debt Recovery Tribunal.
Working with the firm
How instructions usually begin
Most matters start with a consultation at which the facts are set out and the documents examined. What follows from that is a view on which forum applies, what the realistic options are, and what the matter will require of you.
Consultations are by prior appointment at either office. If a matter is urgent, say so when you make contact.
